Who: Barney
Where: Outside the Barracks
When: ...Day 18
Rating: R to be safe

Status: Closed / Finished
Summary: Barney is trying to subtly edge himself away from the barracks when he encounters Pandora, who is fascinated by him. He attempts to flirt his way out of the situation, which backfires and she starts to drink from him. Thankfully, Angua and Jasper come to his rescue, and Angua offers him a stone which he uses to return to DauphinMare.

He'd walked through the barracks on a bit of a stealth mission, dodging rooms and corridors that looked like they had trouble as best as he could, trying not to give off how scared he was.

Of course... wearing only pyjama pants? He kind of stuck out like a sore thumb. He wished they could have at least giving him a suit... But he supposed that defeated the point.

Easing his way from the barracks, he started to ease his way around the side. Maybe there was a forest that he could go get lost in or something...

Pandora was thoroughly enjoying herself, and she was just finishing up when she felt something tugging on her dress. Irritated that she had been interrupted, she didn't close his wound as she might ordinarily have, and instead turned to face the offending area.

Angua glared defiantly up at the woman, unable to properly get to her leg, but tugging on her skirts all the same, ready to launch herself onto the woman at any given moment.

She kicked out at the mongrel as she had at Oy, but Angua dodged this, letting go of her dress and hunkering down before springing at the woman.

Jasper had trotted after Angua, holding his breath for the most part. No need to slip, not again. Not if he could prevent it. Once they came upon the vampire and the catalyst, he hesitated, watching Angua and waiting to see if he'd have to intervene, or if the wolf could handle it.

Wasn't that what wolves did? Handled vampires?

He didn't have any more stones though, and he wondered if Angua had gotten some. Otherwise, they were going to have to run into someone else from DM to get Barney back.

Angua hit the vampire, and she was solid, not the sort of thing the wolf was used to biting down on. Or so she assumed, since she didn't get that far; the woman lashed out at her, catching Angua in the flank. She whimpered and fell to the the ground, immediately springing to her feet despite the pain in her ribs.

It didn't matter, though; the woman was already taking off, evidently offended. Angua growled after her until she couldn't see her anymore, then turned to Barney and trotted over, trying not to limp. She nosed him lightly, trying to see if he was all right.

He was fine. A bit - ha ha - shaken, but otherwise fine. Rather pleased that the vampire had gone away. Rather frightened that she seemed to have been replaced with another vampire and a wolf.

But he recognized this vampire. Did that mean...?

He exhaled, feeling his knees giving out as he leaned back against the wall. "Oh thank god," he muttered. "Are we going back?"

Somehow, he didn't think that they were the type who would've gotten taken.

Jasper was somewhat concerned about the wolf, but she was on her paws and moving. "I don't have any stones," he told Angua. "So we have to get him to someone else, unless you've got some?"

He supposed they could go back together, though he was reluctant to leave until they'd seen for sure if the others were around.

Angua whuffed lightly in agreement, sitting back on her haunches and beginning to gnaw at something on her hind leg. Growling in frustration, she nosed barney, and extended the leg toward him. Wrapped around it - in a move she'd unabashedly stolen from Jacob - was a piece of cord, and at the end of that, a stone. She needed him to untie it, though; she could gnaw, but it would take her a long time, and she didn't want them sitting out in the open like this any longer than they had to.

Barney blinked in confusion, having no idea what the wolf wanted him to do. But... there was a stone attached to its leg.

...A... stone.

Barney resisted the urge to ask the mythical creatures if they were insane. They needed to get the hell out of here, not... mess around with rocks! What the hell was going on?!

...But at the same time, they were from DauphinMare, and he didn't exactly want to fight them too. So he reached down, carefully, to remove the stone from Angua's leg.

"What am I supposed to do with this?" he grumbled irritably.

"Wish yourself back to DauphinMare," Jasper elaborated - since Angua couldn't. "It'll get you back there. Go check in at the medlab," he continued to instruct. Whether or not the guy was actually hurt - a laugh, since there was blood, and oh, god, he could smell it when he talked - it would be a good idea to let everyone know he was back.

Waiting for a breeze, Jasper inhaled non-blood flavored air, and held his breath. It would be fucking wonderful if he lost control here, too.
